Well then, to a point I've done something silly. I wanted to reset my Medion Akoya E4204 D to factory settings, but also wanted to remove the MS Office partition because it is useless to me. I do have the Medion Recovery Discs (One for Windows and one for 'additional programs' so I popped that in and rebooted the PC, it took me to the Recovery and Installation screen and because I'm a bit silly and have had several months of my PC bugging the hell out of me, I went into Install and formatted all the HDD partitions from there, unfortunately including the Recover partition. On installation I now have a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, but none of the additional software that I had when it came new from the factory. I put the 'additional programs' disc in, rebooted, logically thinking that it would prompt me to install said additional software. Basically it didn't, instead it asked me if I wanted to Repair Windows, I tried that and after a scan it told me there were no problems and nothing missing to fix. I am at a loss as to what to do now, as some of the additional software are drivers, some things I don't even know about but I assume they were there for a reason, and particularly Intel Rapid Store Technologies that always seemed to help run my PC a little bit faster and I don't want to have to pay for it again.

I don't want to recover any data, that is all backed up on External HDD (the one sensible thing I did), I just want a Factory Restore. I have e-mailed Medion Tech Support with the situation, but I don't expect a rapid response and I'd really like to know what to do so that I can at least stop pulling my hair out over this. The thing is I HAVE the disc with all of this stuff on it, there's just no auto-run and no way of me knowing what bits need installing from it. The only thing I can think of is that I can try and get Medion to send me the factory settings, or a list of what I need from this disc, otherwise I'm lost of how to get it back.
The drivers are easy enough to find, but the recovery software not so much. I will have another look at the disc when I'm more focussed maybe I can figure something out. I'm just glad Windows installed ok again because I've been there before with another computer and its not nice.
